Meet The Team

The North’s premier race driver training simulator centre

Filling a much needed gap in the North of England for a top-end racing simulator facility, SIMTrack Driver Performance Centre launched in early 2019, with the stated aim of becoming the ‘go-to’ race driver training centre in the region.

Combining market leading simulation technology from Base Performance Simulators, with an enviable location in the Ginetta Racing factory just off the M1 north of Leeds, and a first class portfolio of ARDS Qualified driver coaches, SIMTrack really is the place for pro, am or novice drivers in the area to come and hone their racing skills. Cost effective driver training, with zero risk to car or self, in a location where racing is in our DNA; why not take a quick tour of the Ginetta factory while you are with us?!

Management Team

Adam Croft

Managing Director

Adam is our founder, MD and driving force behind SIMTrack. A local businessman, and life-long racing enthusiast, he has held the vision for some time to create a first-class race driver training simulator centre in the North; teaming up with Leeds-based sports & race car manufacturer, Ginetta, to deliver the solution was a no-brainer.

Adam has competed successfully for many years at club level racing in the likes of Porsche, Lotus and Caterham championships, with his ‘career’ highlight being winning the BRSCC Porsche Championship in 2015.

Lawrence Tomlinson

Lawrence is one of the UK’s most successful entrepreneurs, and now counts involvement in SIMTrack as one of his many business interests. The self-made businessman has been expanding the LNT Group, which includes Ginetta Cars, since he started 30 years ago.

An accomplished racing driver in his own right, Lawrence can often be found on the podium celebrating major wins with his Ginetta race cars. Winning at Le Mans in the famous 2006 24 hour race, he is passionate about providing an accessible route to top level racing for aspiring drivers, which aligns perfectly with the SIMTrack Driver Performance Centre ethos.

Driver Performance Team

James Kellett

Performance Director

James is an ARDS ‘A’ qualified instructor and heads up the Driver Coaching team, responsible for all aspects of driver instruction and tuition. James’ racing career started in karts at 8 years old. He won his first championship aged 9 and became British Champion at 12. The highlight of his karting career was winning the WKA Manufacturers Cup at the famous Daytona International Speedway in Florida USA.

James made the move into car racing at 14, winning the Ginetta Junior Rookie Championship and the Winter Series Championship. He subsequently won the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge Championship in both 2015 and 2018, and was also awarded the BRDC Rising Star status in 2015.

James’ experience, racing credentials and practical coaching style make him a firm favourite with many of our race driver customers at SIMTrack.

Charlie Robertson

Driver Coach

Charlie is a Ginetta factory race driver, ARDS ‘A’ instructor and one of our ‘go-to’ driver coaches for race tuition in the simulator. Following a hugely successful junior karting career, he went on to dominate every step of the Ginetta racing ladder, winning the Juniors, GT4 Supercup and ELMS LMP3 Championships between 2012 and 2015.

Charlie was also a finalist in the Mclaren Autosport BRDC Awards in 2013, and in 2019 competed in the Ginetta LMP1 car at the Le Mans 24 Hours, finishing 5thin Class.

A real ‘slicks & aero’ specialist, there’s nothing that Charlie doesn’t know about extracting lap time from a race car, and he transfers that knowledge to all of the customers he works with.

Mike Simpson

Driver Coach

Mike has been a Ginetta factory driver since 2012, holds an ARDS ‘A’ instructor licence and has been instrumental in developing every model of Ginetta car raced around the World today.

Extensive karting experience in the 1990’s led to Mike becoming the ROK World Champion in 2003. Since then he has competed very successfully in the Silverstone 24hrs, British GT Championship, ELMS, VdeV and Asian Le Mans Series.

In 2018 Mike was one third of Ginetta’s LMP1 driver line up at the Le Mans 24 Hours, finishing 5thin class. When not helping with driver coaching at SIMTrack, Mike can often be found heading up the driver training and development events at Blyton Park
